I am a nurse

I am a nurse

I am a nurse.
What do you see when you shout at me?
Tell me I’m useless.
That I’m not a doctor.

Whilst I did not wear a cape, or a starched white apron.
I wore a uniform. I wore a hat. A belt.
Flat black lace ups. Makeup aesthetically pleasing.
I wore my name badge with pride.

Dear patient

I wiped your bottom when you couldn’t do it.
Cleaned up your vomit.
Made up your bed.
Told you not to worry, and meant it.

Gave up my time.
Hardly slept.
Dealt with the harshness of the job.
The suffering.

About Me

Where do I begin?

I never stand still. I’m always looking for the next adventure; the next opportunity, and undeniably they come my way. I never give up; well not easily, and I strive to make the world a better place. Occasionally, I bring others along for the ride.

Why not join me?
