What if …?
We could create a world that was free from hate.
Rape?
Murder?
Child marriage?
Trafficking?

What if…?
Violence against women and girls was obliterated.
Wiped off the face of the earth.
Wiped from memory.
If no one remembers – no one can forget. It can no longer affect us.
But perhaps, it’s important to remember – for that very same reason.

What if …?
Every woman looked forward to their husband or partner coming home.
And every child their father.
And what if… every woman was welcomed with open arms.
Every young child, with soft snuggles.
A smile, instead of a grimace?

What if…?
Every woman.
Every man
Had the confidence;
The wherewithal
To rid the world of this scourge.
This heinous crime against humanity.

I implore you, embrace the coming year.
Find the time to make the difference.
When incensed about violations against women, write to your MP.
Don’t let it simmer. Don’t brush it under the carpet.
Think someone else will do it. No. You do it. Be the change…
